Steve Harvey Didn’t Get Slapped, But He And Mo’Nique Did Go At It About Hollywood Blackballing Her

Mo’Nique is still talking about her epic failure of a deal with Netflix as well as her ongoing feud with Hollywood heavyweights Tyler Perry, Lee Daniels and Oprah Winfrey. And it’s been a while since she’s had an opportunity to speak on it once again, but on yesterday’s episode of Steve, she sat down (without her boxing gloves thanks goodness) with Steve Harvey to keep the party going with her continuous “Don’t nobody like me!” routine.

There were certain points during the interview where both Mo’Nique and Steve looked at each other like they wanted to say, “Just shut the hell up already“, but this was a much needed conversation. Actually, it really wasn’t because it all breaks down to the same shit she’s been saying since the beginning: Everybody hates Mo’Nique and Mo’Nique didn’t do anything wrong to deserve it. Deadline reports that Steve wasn’t here for any of Mo’Nique’s fables of woe so the two of them engaged in a heated battle that at times looked like they were about to throw hands (which we already knew she threatened to do in a jokey, I think, way).

Mo’Nique said Wednesday she and husband Sydney Hicks, who serves as her talent manager, “were suffering” and losing work as a result of her disagreements with Daniels, Winfrey and Perry.

“We got labeled as ‘difficult’ because I said one word — and that was ‘no,’” she stated.

“Now I said no to some very powerful people.. .the difficulty came in when people that looked like me, like Oprah, Tyler, Lee Daniels and I got to put my brother Steve on the list,” she added. “Y’all knew that I was not wrong. Each one of you said to me, ‘Mo’Nique, you’re not wrong.’ And when I heard you go on the air and say, ‘My sister burned too many bridges, and it’s nothing I can do for her now,’ Steve, do you know how hurt I was?”

Steve didn’t care because he’s Steve Harvey and all he wants to do is hear himself talk. He combated her narrative with: Shut up, you’re rich.

Harvey then told Mo’Nique he had a problem with her boycott because “she never gave people a point of action,” and wasn’t specific as to whether she wanted her fans to drop their subscriptions or pick up signs.

He went on to say the average person couldn’t relate to her complaints.

“This problem that you had at Netflix are rich people problems, because they’re looking at us saying ‘you’re talking about millions, well, you got this, so you outta be cool.’”

Of course Mo’Nique didn’t want to hear any of Steve’s words because she was still hurt by him abandoning her in her time of need. Yahoo! reports that the interview continued between the two of them with Mo’Nique saying she would have appreciated Steve’s support and Steve countering with “Nah son, you brought this shit on yourself.” Eventually things got really heated and there’s a point where Mo’Nique likens their discussion to that between a brother and sister right before someone gets punched in the face and screams “MOMMM!!!!”

At one point, Harvey said he was sorry they were arguing, and Mo’Nique shot back, “We’re not arguing. You and your sister, we’re having a conversation … and I’m getting ready to punch you in your mouth. Bam, bam.” That was as fiery as it got. She went on, “I have to understand how to agree to disagree without being upset. That’s the thing: I disagree with my brother. I’m not upset with you. I love you. I disagree with the way Oprah, Lee and Tyler did it, but I love them.”

The interview concludes with Steve admitting he should have called Mo’Nique before everything got so far out of hand and promising to try and make things right between her, Tyler, Lee and Oprah but that ain’t happening. Steve doesn’t do anything unless it puts money in his own pockets so when Mo’Nique abruptly got up at the end of the interview I hope she was saying to herself “Whatever Uncle Horse Teeth“. Although, if he is telling the truth I wish I could be there when Steve makes that call because it would probably go something like “Excuse me Queen Oprah, do you think Mo’Nique –click– Hello???”
