Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation Is Reportedly Broke

William Bradley Pitt is the Ja Rule of the Lower Ninth Ward and William Bradley’s name will forever be associated with the Make It Right foundation, no matter what he does moving forward. And much like Ja’s Frye Festival did, MIR is going down in flames. Page Six reports that the foundation is essentially broke, hasn’t built a new house since 2016, hasn’t updated its website since 2015, and last publicly posted its tax filings in 2014. Brad’s been pointing fingers and trying to get his name removed from a class-action lawsuit filed on behalf of MIR homeowners who wish being presented with a nasty cheese sandwich was the least of their worries. They are suing because the MIR homes they bought with their hard-earned money are garbage. And potentially life threatening.

Not only have the homes been plagued with mold, leaky roofs, electrical problems, dry rot, and overall structural issues, Page Six notes:

In December, the city of New Orleans warned the 109 Make It Right homeowners that natural-gas meters in their houses might be improperly installed — a dangerous condition that could lead to gas leaks and explosions.

What a colossal clusterfuck. And since it hasn’t been updated since Obama’s first term, Brad still features prominently on MIR’s website. Under the FAQ it reads:

How is Brad Pitt involved?

Brad Pitt is the founder of Make It Right, a donor and a board member. He is actively involved in our on-going work.

No wonder the class action litigants singled out Brad as the hype man for this mess. Not a good look when you’re trying to pretend it’s all somebody else’s fault. While Brad’s been busy trying to get his name removed, he and MIR are suing the architect who designed the homes.

I wonder how well Brad remembers Lloyd Griffin. He was the first person to receive a MIR house in New Orleans. He remembers Brad very well. He remembers Brad personally asking him to sign a contract to let him build him a house, and doing so despite his initial skepticism. He remembers Brad personally furnishing his entire house. He even remembers Brad showing up with his then girlfriend Angelina Jolie, in a limousine.

I wonder if Brad remembers Lloyd. And I wonder if Lloyd’s house is still standing.
