Someone Mistook Samuel L. Jackson For John Travolta At A Party…

In “What the actual fuck?” News: Page Six is reporting that a fan mistook legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson for semi-legendary drag queen, John Travolta. How could they mistake two men completely different in talents and also, you know, ethnicity? That should be obvious: booze.

Samuel was attending the opening night of To Kill A Mockingbird on Broadway, which his wife LaTanya Richardson is in. The opening was attended by people like Oprah WinfreyMagic JohnsonAnne HathawayTina FeySteve MartinSpike LeeImanHugh Jackman, Jessica Chastain, and Jon Hamm. And also one wasted trick who decided he would crash a conversation going on between Samuel and his Pulp Fiction co-star Uma Thurman.

What went down next was a display of intoxication and tomfoolery the likes of which you usually only witness from your drunk middle-aged aunt at a New Year’s party at around 2:13 am after most guests have long-since left.

The unnamed guest, who a spy described as “had one too many drinks,” took that liquid courage and brought it right up to the chatting Uma and Samuel. Then he started asking them to re-enact the iconic dance scene from Pulp Fiction, which features Uma Thurman doing the twist… with John Travolta. “Do the dance! Do the dance!” he shouted at the celebrities.

Samuel responded: “I think you have me mixed up with someone else.” But do you think that a hugely successful mega-star dismissing you to your face was enough for this dude? It was not! A spy at the party says:

“Undeterred, the fan continued trying to goad the pair into dancing, before an onlooker firmly informed him, ‘This is not that kind of party.’ There was no music and no dance floor!”

Ooof. You know you’re the drunk mess at a party when someone who you’re not even talking to has to tell you to calm down. But hey, look on the bright side: at least he was sober enough not to ask Samuel to start singing “(You’re) Timeless To Me.”
