Duchess Kate Is Upping Her Style Game Against Duchess Meghan

It’s a real pity Joan Rivers isn’t around to look at the ongoing maybe-tiff between Duchess Catherine and Duchess Meghan and have a big enough yawn that it tousles the weave on Giuliana Rancic. Kate and Meg may not be BFF4L to the point where Meghan and Prince Harry are moving from Kensington Palace to a big-ass, taxpayer-funded “cottage” (aka mansion) in Windsor. There’s now a report out that says Kate isn’t liking how all fashion eyes are on Meghan, so she’s upping her style.

TMZ says Kate is filling her calendar up with events to show the world that she’s the one in line to the pointless throne. While she’s still recycling old outfits (pleasing to the commoners but ain’t doing no favors at the Haus of Vogue), she’s deploying a team to glam up her hair, her jewelry, and her make-up. This isn’t country Kate – this is the future Queen (*cough* by marriage *cough*) of England, dammit! She’s been spotted with one of Princess Diana’s old tiaras, a new Alexander McQueen gown, and even – GASP! – bared her shoulders at Prince Charles’ 70thbirthday. Be careful, Kate, or Duchess Camilla might return the favor by baring her shoulders at your next birthday party.

The fashion frenzy comes amid reports that Kate and Meghan not getting along is really driving a wedge between PHG and Prince William. Well, more of a wedge than was probably already there over William’s envy that Harry has managed to keep most of his hair for way longer than William was. I think the duchess drama can easily be settled by just having them walk out of a Top Shop wearing different coats – whoever’s duchess dud sells out first then gets a prize of getting to sit as far away from cranky old Prince Philip this Christmas!
