The Trailer For Ariana Grande’s Mean Girls-Esque Video For “thank u, next” Is Out

Are there any early aughts Rom-Coms that Ariana Grande hasn’t sniped for her next video? Ariana has been teasing that her upcoming video for “thank u, next” for weeks now, and it has everything from Legally Blonde to Bring It On to 13 Going On 30, giving many an early-00s actor or actress a much-needed jolt to their SAG card. The one she’s been teasing most has been the Mean Girls stretch of the video where she plays Regina George and has a blend of impersonators and actual cast members reprising their roles. No, the video still isn’t out, but a trailer is. And Linsday Lohan wasn’t invited.

Us Weekly says Ariana is stealing Pete Davidson’s thunder by having a stab at joking at their quickie engagement/breakup in the video. Stefanie Drummond (pictured above), who played the girl who got punched in the face by Regina, appears in the trailer and says, “Ariana broke off an engagement, so I found a guy to propose to me, and I broke off an engagement.” How self-aware! See the whole thing for yourself:

Jonathan Bennett, who played Aaron Samuels, is back and making cracks about his hotness with his hair pushed back. I was really hoping for Amy Poehler to appear in Juicy Couture and that wacky boob job, but no dice. Fingers crossed for a cameo! Troye Sivan is in there making a joke about how people got the “…and her name is Ari” lyric wrong and thought she was copping to some lady pond laps. TMZ thought it was interested Ariana impersonator Gabi DeMartino is in the video, but apparently Ariana thinks the spoofs are funny. Someone who wasn’t entirely impressed with getting spoofed is LiLo. Liz Gillies from Dynasty plays Cady Heron in the video.

The full video is out Friday, but I guess Lindsay won’t  be making an appearance. Ah, well, LiLo. You’ll always your ambitions to be The Little Mermaid!
