Roseanne Says She’s Fine And Alive After Rumors Of A Heart Attack

Although, she probably wished she was a couple of weeks ago. Disgraced comedian and Twitter mess Roseanne was rumored to have suffered a serious health crisis this week, but unlike her character Roseanne Conner, she’s alive and she’s okay.

According to People, Roseanne is a frequent call-in guest to something called Sputnik News hosted by one Lee Stranahan. Lee was in the middle of a live Periscope video when someone claiming to be Roseanne’s new assistant “Frank” phoned in. Lee took the call and “Frank” told him that Roseanne had suffered a serious heart attack.

This dude called from a number that Lee Stranahan thought he recognized as Roseanne’s, as well as mentioning a few things that made him think the guy was legit. He wasn’t. We know this because Roseanne put on her sexy new t-shirt, posed for a pic, and tweeted her continued existence.

Roseanne followed that up with another tweet telling everyone that she was ok but selfishly choosing not to reveal where she got that t-shirt.

Roseanne hasn’t been in the news much since she torpedoed her own comeback, so this sort of led to people believing that maybe she’d been having some health issues.

Barr has been laying low in recent weeks after the Roseanne spinoff, The Conners, premiered in October. The hit Roseanne reboot was canceled by ABC in May following a racist comment Barr made about former Obama White House advisor Valerie Jarrett. In the new series, Roseanne’s namesake character died of an opiate overdose.

Ugh, that was a really depressing way to kill off our late 80s, wasn’t it? As for The Conners, it’s…ok? Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, (surprisingly) Lecy Goranson, and my sugar daddy from a parallel universe John Goodman are their usual wonderful, but there’s a crazy lady-shaped hole where Ro used to be. Maybe they can bring Sandra Bernhard back? Or Martin Mull? Hell – maybe Tom Arnold could pop back into Lanford for an episode. No, scratch that.
