Many People Aren’t Happy That Blac Chyna Is Selling Skin Whitening Cream
It’s really too bad that Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian didn’t work out, because I can’t think of a more perfect daughter-in-law for Kris Jenner. Look at her shamelessly promoting a problematic line of cosmetics in the name of cashing a check, then getting ten tons of internet attention for her tacky decision to do so?
As it currently stands, Rob Kardashian is trying to pay Blac Chyna less child support for their 2-year-old daughter Dream. Chyna isn’t totally destitute, because she’s got many lucrative business offers on the table. Like her partnership with the skincare company Whitenicious By Dencia.
According to their website, Whitenicious is a “luxury” skincare line that focuses on “brightening” and removing “dark spots.” Chyna has partnered with Whitenicious for a cream called Whitenicious X Blac Chyna Diamond Illuminating & Lightening Cream. For $250, the cream comes in a Swarovski crystal-studded jar and promises to “Brighten, lighten without bleaching skin out.” Basically, it’s a skin whitening cream. It’s also expensive and gaudy and I’m sure Sammy Sosa has put in an order for at least six jars.
Chyna hasn’t just slapped her name on a jar of cream and asked for her money. Chyna’s rep tells TMZ that she’s been using the cream for a few years to deal with hyperpigmentation (aka dark spots on the skin). Her rep adds that Chyna thinks the product is good because a lot of women of color suffer from similar skin issues. She’s also going to Lagos, Nigeria to promote it this weekend. Skin bleaching creams are popular in Africa, although its seen as a questionable practice with roots in colonialism.
If the research behind why skin whitening cream isn’t enough to convince you this is a bad move on Blac Chyna’s part, there’s also this: you know you should stay far away from a product if Joe Jackson has been anywhere near it. Not to mention that it seems a little ironic a woman named Blac Chyna is pushing whitening cream (Angela White, however seems a little more apropos?). Whatever the reason, obviously some people weren’t feeling it.
The World Health Organization has reported that Nigerians are the highest users of skin whitening products, a whooping 77% of Nigerian women use skin whitening products on a regular basis. its no brainer why Blac Chyna decided to target the Lagos market first.

Blac Chyna is going to Lagos, Nigeria to promote a bleaching cream and I am honestly disgusted.

Preying on people who have already been told that a certain beauty standard is more desirable & as a black woman herself advising them to be whiter is disgusting. Just because she wants to use that horrible cream does not mean she should travel to Africa and make them too.

Chyna is doing this all for the check makes sense, considering her current financial situation. Rob wants to pay Chyna much less child support than the $20,000 a month he has been paying. He has claimed that Chyna makes much more money than himself, and she owes him. According to People, Chyna went off on Rob in a recent Instagram story and accused him of denying his daughter the luxury lifestyle she deserves. Chyna writes:
“So my children aren’t supposed to live the same lifestyle as their fathers ETC ETC ha? As a single mother, I provide for them and give them the luxury lifestyle they deserve…WOW!!!”
What Chyna is forgetting is that she’s got the key to luxury right under her nose. All she has to do is call up her friends at Whitenicious and ask for several cases of empty Swarovski-studded cream jars, then just fill them up with whatever she chooses. Hair clips. Children’s Tylenol. Goldfish crackers. Teeth for the Tooth Fairy. Instant luxury.
