Bill Cosby Will Stand Trial Again For Sexual Assault Of A Minor

Suddenly, the guard moving the TV remote in the prison day room is the least of Bill Cosby’s worries. Deadline reports that an L.A. Superior Court judge has just granted a woman named Judy Huth a trial date of October 17, 2019 for her civil suit against Bill, accusing him of sexually assaulting her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 15. That means he’s being accused of child sexual assault, which is not going help his case for getting double Jell-Os on Wednesdays.
According to Time, Judy claims that was 15 when she and a 16-year-old friend met Bill at a park where he was filming a movie. They both told Bill how old they were but he pursued them nevertheless.
Cosby invited Huth and her friend to his tennis club the following Saturday. They met him there and the trio played billiards. Cosby also gave them alcohol, playing a game with Huth that involved her drinking a beer every time he won a game of billiards. Afterwards, he took the girls to the Playboy Mansion, where Huth said he invited her to sit beside him in a bedroom suite and molested her, according to the filing.
The suit was originally filed in 2014, and Cosby was deposed in the matter in 2015, but the case was delayed from going forward because Bill’s dance/rape trial card was getting pretty full. Judy is represented by Gloria Allred who said of the new trial date:
We are happy that the court set a trial date of Oct 7, 2019 in our civil case against Mr. Cosby. While he is sitting in prison, he will have to be concerned that he will not be able to avoid facing a civil jury and judgement day in Santa Monica in Ms. Huth’s case.
Since he’s already been deposed, it’s possible that Bill won’t have to appear under oath again. But this new trial date is bound to take what little spring Cosby might have still had in his step. I expect him to drop out of the prison talent show “Christmas Follies From The Clink”. Instead, I hope he’ll be performing my favorite holiday monologue called “Guttural Moans Of Despair” to an audience none.
