“The Alec Baldwin” Show Will Take A Backseat To “Shark Tank” Reruns
It’s a sad day in America when a decent, humble, family man like Alec Baldwin can’t catch a break in showbiz. Sadly, after only 4 episodes on the air, his ABC talk show The Alec Baldwin Show, is being moved from its coveted Sunday nights at 10 time slot. And in the rudest of insults to injury, is to be replaced by reruns of Shark Tank. TABS will be moving to the dark side of the moon; aka Saturdays at 10. Not even his adoring black fans are going to watch him in that time slot!
According to Deadline:
The decision comes after four very low-rated episodes of The Alec Baldwin Show on Sunday and a controversy surrounding Baldwin’s arrest last week over assault allegations. In its most recent outing, The Alec Baldwin Show drew 1.47 million viewers in Live+same day and a 0.3 adults 18-49 rating.
The last episode that aired on November 4th, will have to tide the ever dwindling core of Black Fans Of Baldwin Alec Not James (or BFOBANJs) over for a while. TABS will return to limp its way into the new year in December.
Baldwin’s talk show will return to the air on Dec. 8 in a new time slot, Saturday, 10 PM, following the end of college football. Saturday is considered a graveyard for burning off shows that are destined for cancellation.
That means Thanksgiving leftovers with Baldwin is not going to happen. Those of you who had planned new family traditions based on gathering around the TV to eat warmed over mashed potatoes that aunt Shirley forgot to salt while listening to Alec emit more hot air than a cracked radiator, will need to rethink that plan.
After the Shark Tank reruns, Alec’s old spot will be held by The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Holiday Special. I hope the Angels are respectful of the hallowed ground on which they stomp.
