Well, there’s at least one ray of light in the ongoing battle for Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb’s frozen embryos. According to “sources” close to Sofia, Nick is still holding on to those frost-bitten “babies” in an attempt to break up her marriage with Joe Manganiello, which means if he’s successful, my chances of going to the bone zone with Joe go from 1/10000000.1 to 1/10000000.01. So, slightly better!
In case you’ve forgotten the saga, Nick is Sofia’s ex-fiance. When they were together they fertilized two of her eggs and put them on ice. Sofia eventually came to her senses and realized she could do better than a glassy-eyed zealot, and they broke up. Nick then decided to sue her for possession of the frozen embryos, over three years ago, and hasn’t let up since. TMZ reports that Sofia thinks that Nick’s hell bent on revenge and not just vying for the position of World’s Most Tenacious Dad.
Our Sofia sources say the driving force behind the fight has nothing to do with bringing another life into the world … it’s pure and simple revenge. The sources claim Nick remains angry Sofia dumped him and they believe his end goal is to ruin her marriage.
In fact, Nick reportedly had a daughter in October and so is already a father. But that child is presumably harder to care for than the embryos because as long as you leave the freezer plugged in, you are basically good to go. You can go on vacation, hit the club with your boys, put in long days filming your pro-life movie, and pretend to live in Louisiana so you can sue your ex for custody of a pair of ice cubes.
We’ve learned the longtime California resident now claims he lives in Plaquemines Parish, LA, where he’s even established a trust fund for the embryos, whom he named Emma and Isabella. Our Sofia sources say Nick never stays at the home, and is only using the address as a front.
While Emma and Isabella aren’t any closer to getting busted out of cell jail, Nick’s dogged perseverance is quite remarkable. He’s got deep Lehman Brothers pockets and pro-life political ties, so if he wants to drag this out for decades, he could. But the twins are already 3-years old. If he wins, what happens to the woman who owns the womb they end up in? Imagine trying to carry two 3-year-olds in your belly!
