If you are the type of person who gets moisty for a pair of perfectly combed caterpillar eyebrows, piercing blue eyes and a strong jaw line, whip out your calendar and circle November 9th with a red poster board size Sharpie. The good news is that on November 9th, Chris Pine‘s new movie Outlaw King will be released. As some of us already know, it features him butt naked, dangly bits and all. The best news is that it will be released on Netflix so you can enjoy it in the privacy of your own home.
Chris was a guest on The Graham Norton Show last night, and while sandwiched between Sally Field and Rami Malek (that’s a sandwich I would order twice), Graham pressed him about the recent Twitterverse responses to his naked appearance in Outlaw King.
Vulture paraphrased the exchange:
“There’s a scene in the film where I bare the full monty,” Pine explained. “That seemed to get a lot of attention.” Well, what exactly are we dealing with here, the front or the back of Pine’s cone? “It’s both, man. Different strokes for different folks, as it were.” He also doesn’t mind all of your fawning, horny tweets. “They’re funny,” Pine insisted, “they’re ‘effin brutal.”
Chris laughs the attention off while Sally is loving it (probably wondering which team Chris plays for and if she can maybe hook him up with her son after the show). But Chris did have a critique about the sexist double standard of going naked in a movie (via Digital Spy):
“I thought the witty reviews were brilliant but what did strike me most is that Florence Pugh bares everything too and no one commented. I am not sure what that means.
“Either people think they can’t comment or everyone expects women to get naked. Either way, it’s double standards.”
I feel a new movement coming on because he is absolutely right! Like The Notorious RBG said about women on the Supreme Court (“There will be enough when there are nine“), this principal should apply to Hollywood. We will not rest until there are enough naked peens on film to balance the number of boobs. Who is with me? Let’s organize a march on D.C. and make this happen!
Outlaw King also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who sadly does not bare all in the film. For those with a tingle for all things Game of Thrones, Stephen Dillane (Stannis Baratheon) and James Cosmo (Joer Mormont) are also in the mix. No word on if their beans and franks made the cut.
