Beyoncé Didn’t Wear Yeezy Heels After All

Things have been pretty dicey between Kanye West and Jay-Z for a while now, but then earlier this year, Jay implied he might be warming up to Kanye again. Then a few days ago, it seemed as though Beyoncé was sending a subtle message to everyone that Kanye is once again back in their good graces. Except…it’s not what it looks like. What appeared to be an olive branch ended up being an unintentionally hilarious case of mistaken knock-off identity.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s On The Run II Tour swung through Phoenix, Arizona, earlier this week, and to commemorate the occasion, she posted several photos to Beyoncé.com. Several pictures featured Beyoncé wearing a pair of Lucite mules that many on the internet thought were the 2017 Yeezy Season 5 PVC Mules that sell for $850. Even Kanye himself got excited and Instagrammed the picture yesterday.

Beyoncé posed in those shoes multiple times, which you know had Kanye giggling with joy (a nice change of pace from all the scowling he’s been doing this week).

Except LoveBScott confirms that those shoes aren’t Yeezys. Beyoncé’s new favorite shoes are actually the $49.99 Maliboo Clear Mule from Public Desire. A little sleuthing shows that the shoes Beyoncé is wearing have a straighter, more rectangular heel than the Yeezys (the Yeezys are more rounded and have a slight curve). So, sorry to burst your bubble Kanye, but your famleeeeee wasn’t keeping it in the family with their footwear.

Although to be fair to Kanye, his ego is so out of control, this accidentally act of possibly trollery by Beyoncé probably won’t even register with him. He’s probably already thinking of a way to spin this in his favor. “Well, Jay-Z – my wife is maybe the most famous example of a cheap plastic knock-off, so I take your wife wearing those shoes as an extremely flattering compliment.
