Asia Argento Is Threatening To Sue Rose McGowan For Libel
Before Asia Argento was accused of having sex with a 17-year-old named Jimmy Bennett in 2013, she might have been known as Rose McGowan’s fellow #MeToo soldier and friend. But ever since Asia began to fight against the accusations that she’s a sexual predator, Rose has slowly (very slowly) moved away from her. Eventually Rose accused Asia of being a major creep and liar. Asia isn’t happy that Rose has been running her mouth, and is threatening Rose with a lawsuit.
Asia is specifically pissed off about allegations that came from both Rose and Rose’s partner Rain Dove Dubilewski. Last month, Rose released a statement on Asia, saying they weren’t really that close, and that Rose hadn’t known Asia for that long. Rose also said that her partner Rain claimed they had texts from Asia in which she admitted to having sex with an underage Jimmy, and that Jimmy has been sending Asia nudes since he was about 12. Rain then gave the texts to the police, and they were later leaked to TMZ. Asia claimed in another statement that she’s innocent and that Jimmy assaulted her.
Page Six says that Asia contacted Rose on Twitter told her to retract the libelous statements she made last month.
Dear @RoseMcGowan. It is with genuine regret that I am giving you 24 hours to retract and apologise for the horrendous lies made against me in your statement of August 27th. If you fail to address this libel I will have no option other than to take immediate legal action.

Of course, this is made even messier by the fact that Rain Dove Dubilewski has walked back their initial accusation that Asia was sexting a 12-year-old.
It is a shame that @rosemcgowan is not prepared to accept when she is wrong. @raindovemodel accepted she was wrong, but her tweet has been deleted. Rose's statement continues to make false claims. pic.twitter.com/OcHyJp6Rum

Rose has yet to respond to Asia’s threat, which could mean Rose is busy calling her lawyers, typing up a retraction, or just hasn’t checked her Twitter mentions yet. But since this is Rose we’re talking about, the response is bound to leave Asia feeling financially unsatisfied. “Hi Asia! Please go ahead and sue me, but just keep in mind I had to sell my house to pay my legal bills. Might I suggest you sue me for a million imaginary dollars? Why not six million imaginary dollars? Name your price, but just know if you win, you’re getting paid in imaginary dollars.”
