Bobby Brown Spoke About Kanye’s “Really Disgusting” Album Artwork Of Whitney Houston’s Bathroom

Remember that time Kanye West decided he would use Whitney Houston‘s drug-strewn bathroom as the cover art for his labelmate’s album? Bobby Brown does, and he is still not impressed.

BuzzFeed sat down with Bobby for an episode of Profile and he talked about the incident. Kanye spent a reported $85, 000 buying the rights to use the picture of Whitney’s bathroom for Pusha T’s album Daytona. The picture was taken by a family member of Whitney’s in 2006 and it ran in the most elegant and truthful publication of human society: The National Enquirer. So obviously with a prestigious background such as that, Ye absolutely needed to use the photo for a musical endeavor.

Back in May Bobby spoke with Rolling Stone about the cover art saying then that it was “really disgusting”:

“That’s in really bad tasted. Something should happen to Kanye. He’s already crazy.”

Speaking again on the topic to Profile, Bobby continued to show his disdain for Kanye’s cover art choice. Originally, Bobby didn’t even know about the hideous Daytona album cover because he’s super busy and important and not living off the coattails of his long-deceased ex-wife, but eventually everyone hears about everything and Bobby was grossed out, finding the cover: “very disrespectful”. On Kanye he said this:

“Ignorant people are ignorant people, and they’re going to be that way until they find themselves.”

He also had some warning words for Ye:

“You expect disrespectful stuff from Kanye West anyway, so he’s not going to change… Long as he stays clear from me, he’ll be safe. He’ll be OK.”

Don’t want to get into a physical altercation with Bobby Brown, Kanye. We all know about those… Or do we?

Bobby also spoke about those claims that he beat on Whitney when they were married saying that “the public record is wrong.” Bobby previously denied there being a 911 call about his alleged violence towards Whitney in 2003, but then was read the receipts (the police report) during the 2018 Television Critics Association press tour. Bobby suggested that the BET miniseries The Bobby Brown Story addresses the matter best:

“It was a one-time thing that really happened, but when you see the movie, you’ll see it wasn’t that I hit her, or that I did anything like that… You’ll see how the incident happened.”

Yeah, lets all believe the mini-series about the allegedly abusive spouse where he shows how he was actually not that abusive. And I’m back to not agreeing with Bobby Brown: the planet has returned to its correct axis.

Bobby is now trying to make a positive impact in the world of domestic violence (as opposed to a physical impact) and is working to open a shelter for abuse victims which will be named after his late daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

“My daughter’s not here and I don’t want to see another man nor woman lose their child to domestic violence.”

Knowing that fools like Kanye West and Bobby Brown continue to walk among us while gifts from the Heavens such as Whitney are only memories is so tragic. But the gods couldn’t leave such a pure soul as Whitney’s here on the mortal plane. She’s up in clouds at the gates of Heaven permanently singing I Will Always Love You waiting for the chosen souls to get through the pearly gates while cherubs gently dab at her brow with a white silk handkerchief. Now her and Miss Aretha are up there together hitting those harmonies and triggering hurricanes. Yas, Queens! Slay!
