Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” Tour Is Now The Highest-Grossing US Tour By A Woman

For the past week, Nicki Minaj has been been publicly feuding with Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner. That strategy hasn’t exactly been paying off for Nicki, as it was recently announced that the North American leg of her NickiHndrxx Tour gotĀ canceled, possibly due to low ticket sales. But that’s not to say that publicly dragging a Kardashian husband isn’t a lucky dice roll for everyone who tries it. Last fall, Taylor Swift repeatedly took aim at Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on her album Reputation. Taylor then took Reputation on tour in May, and almost four months in, Billboard is reporting that it’s now the highest-grossing US tour by a woman.

Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour launched on May 8 in Glendale, AZ and will end on November 21, 2018 in Tokyo, Japan. Billboard was able to calculate a record-break just 27 domestic shows in. Taylor has reportedly made $191.1 million in the United States so far, and $11.1 million in Canada. Taylor still has three months worth of shows to play, and she’s already made at least $202 million.

That much money meansĀ Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour is officially the highest-grossing US tour (excluding residencies) by a woman. The previous record holder was actually Taylor Swift herself, who made $181.5 million domestically on her 1989 World Tour in 2015 (it went on to make $250.7 million worldwide).

Every show Taylor has done so far has sold out, and the box office numbers for the UK have yet to be tallied to Billboard Boxscore. Billboard says that Taylor has earned an average of about $7 million per show in the US.

Of course, Taylor’s success is currently limited just to the US portion of her tour at the moment. The current female record holder for the most money made off a worldwide tour would be Madonna, with the $408 million made on her Sticky & Sweet Tour in 2008/2009. Still, I’m Taylor is thrilled that she was able to make more money than last time, and is treating her cats to a crystal goblet of fish-shaped edible rubies for dinner. They deserve it, what with all the squealing she’s done to their ears since the news broke. And don’t tell me edible rubies don’t exist; Taylor’s tour just made $202 million, I’m sure she’s got access to millionaire foods we’ve never heard of.
