Lil’ Kim Had A Few Things To Say About Her Beef With Nicki Minaj

I guess that means she knows her now? A couple of months ago, Lil’ Kim didn’t want to answer questions about Nicki Minaj. But hot on the heels of the release of Nicki’s new album Queen, Kim decided to talk about their feud and she kept the shade subdued and gentle.

Entertainment Tonight says that Kim, who has a new single (Nasty One) and an upcoming album to promote, was asked about Nicki and Queen by the hosts of Real 92.3. Kim has always maintained that Nicki is a cheap Xeroxed version of herself, so she was asked how she feels about the name of Nicki’s album considering her nickname is Queen Bee. Just as Lil’ Kim has advised in song, you can’t fuck with Queen Bee, and she wasn’t exactly feeling the mention of Nicki. She told them it’s time to stop asking her about Nicki, and she doesn’t care about “that chick.”

“God bless her, what she did she did. I wish her the best, I’m past that, I’m over it…She did what she did, until she’s ready, hopefully, God puts it on her mind to do the right thing, because she knows what she did. Once that happens, hopefully everyone will stop asking me.”

Kim asked the hosts to not bring up petty fights with other female artists when she’s on their show. She added, “Let’s give every girl – including Old Girl [Nicki] – their own privacy….their own recognition.” That’s nice, almost as if Kim has turned a shady corner. Well, not exactly. She then addressed the use of the term “Queen,” and she managed to get in a sly little dig, by saying: “When the streets name you that, Biggie named me that. I didn’t name myself that. When you gotta name yourself, that’s a whole different thing, I would never name myself that.”

She then claimed to have always always supported up-and-coming female artists.

Kim clearly doesn’t want to talk about Nicki anymore, and yet here she is continuing to talk. I don’t blame her; it brings attention, and who hates attention? I just wish she’d drop some hints about what Nicki did to piss her off so much. Based on their past history, it’s most likely because Lil’ Kim believed Nicki was blatantly plagiarizing her life. And then it escalated, and people took sides, and it got very dramatic. But that’s our only real clue to this mystery. Unfortunately, without confirmation on the first, I’m also working with a second feud origin story in which Kim introduced herself and Nicki replied, “I’m sorry dear, I think you’re confused, because you don’t look a thing like Lil’ Kim.”
