Cardi B Has Pulled Out Of Bruno Mars’ Tour To Be With Her Baby

There are many reasons one might decide they no longer want to open for Bruno Mars on tour. Fear of tripping over the step-stools he leaves lying around backstage. Losing your mind after hearing Uptown Funk for the 300th time. But for Cardi B, who was scheduled to open for Bruno on the last leg of his 24k Magic World Tour, she’s bailing because she just had a baby and wants to spend time with it.

Bruno has been on tour since March 2017, and his tour was set to close in the US in November. The plan was for Cardi to join him on September 7th in Denver and finish out the tour. Then Cardi got pregnant, and gave birth to her daughter Kulture on July 10th. Cardi thought that six weeks would be enough time for her to recover from birth and slip back into her booty shorts and vinyl boots. Yesterday she announced on Instagram that it’s just not enough time, and she needs to be with her baby.

Bruno Mars was quick to release a statement of his own regarding Cardi’s absence, and he fully supports her decision. He also says they’ll play Bodak Yellow every night.

It’s not known who will replace Cardi B on the tour while she stays home and parents Kulture. My suggestion is to roll out a giant cardboard cut-out of that Cardi B meme. As long as that meme stays popular, it’s a good option.

Cardi would have been on tour with Bruno for more than two months, and two months is a pretty long time in the life of an infant. Kulture would have been four months old by the time her mommy came home, and I can’t image there would be a worse welcome than seeing your daughter stare at you, before looking back at her nanny like, “And just who is this?
