Busy Phillips Shit On Delta For Trying To Separate Her From Her Child

Michelle Williams bestie Busy Phillips, 39, (she gets an Oscars seating upgrade and everything!) unloaded on Delta Airlines on Twitter for an incident in which a flight cancellation caused them to book her kid on a separate flight from her. It sounds like a convoluted mix-up and an unpleasant and shitty situation. Buuuutttt, given the ongoing furor over the creepy people in charge ripping families apart at the border and putting kids in CAGES, maybe it wasn’t the best time to make this a public battle? (It’s surprising that she didn’t read the room correctly seeing as she posted about the situation prior to this incident.) A mom that was just trying to escape certain death for her and her family in their homeland and made a grueling trek across dangerous territory with a child in her arms to seek refuge in our fair country only to have that kid taken from her and PUT IN A CAGE might be giving you and your upgraded Oscar seats the side-eye right now, Busy.

Us Weekly reports that in a tweet that has since been taken down, Busy excoriated Delta on Friday for trying to separate her kid from her.

Hey @Delta! Thanks for cancelling my flight and then rerouting us and separating my MINOR child onto a different flight than mine and having a 2 HR call time wait! You are terrible!

But, no, an evil Delta flight attendant didn’t suddenly snatch her kid.

Another Twitter user reached out to Philipps to clarify her daughter’s situation: “Why would they separate you from your child? Please tell me you didn’t let them fly without you. Omg.”

The Dawson’s Creek star replied: “No!! I would NEVER!!!!!”

Wait, so this was actually a clerical error and the real complaint is that you had a long wait? Girl…

Delta apologized but made sure to note that Busy and her kid were never physically separated.

Delta issued the following statement to Us Weekly: “We apologize for the inconvenience this caused Ms. Philipps. Delta worked quickly to resolve the rebooking issue and coordinated directly with the customer to adjust their travel.”

And here’s the “But you might want to chill, Ms. Upgraded Oscar Seats.”

The airline also noted that Philipps and her daughter were booked under separate itineraries, which led to the mix-up. The two were never physically separated, according to the airline, and once the company was made aware of the situation, the family had already made alternate travel arrangements. Delta refunded the unused portion of their travel and “extended an additional gesture of goodwill.”

Busy is actually pretty lucky despite the mix-up. Her daughters are named Birdie (9) and Cricket (4). It’s a good thing she wasn’t flying United. The flight attendants on that hell airline would have seen the kids’ names, decided they were pets and try to put them in the overheard bin.
