Heather Locklear Is Going To Get Long Term Care For Substance And Mental Health Issues

Finally, an end appears to be in sight to the slo-mo car crash that has been our view into Heather Locklear‘s past year. If what TMZ reports is true, hopefully Heather, one of our Patron Saints of 1980s glamour vixens attached to sexy-sleazy rock stars (I’m also looking at you, Valerie Bertinelli), will soon be moving from what the Daily Mail says was a psychiatric hold at UCLA Medical Center into a long term facility. 

Thank goodness for that busy body Mrs. Kravitz AKA “Sources“, who is providing TMZ with the news that will help us all sleep soundly tonight.

Sources connected to Heather’s family tell us … doctors at the hospital where she was taken after her latest arrest have conducted a battery of tests that have painted a clear picture … Heather’s problems involve substance abuse and mental health in equal measure, although it’s possible the latter is even more serious than the former.

We’re told Heather has been cooperative so far, and has voluntarily agreed to enter the long-term facility for treatment. Our sources say there is no plan to try and get a conservatorship, because it’s virtually impossible under these circumstances in California — courts just wouldn’t approve it.

Heather’s family appears to be supporting her through these hard times by the mere fact that they are not yackity yaking and flapping their gums off to the press. Heather’s daughter Ava Sambora, age 20, has not released a public statement nor has Ava’s dad Richie Sambora. However, you can count on good old Tommy “Long Duck Dong” Lee, who appears to live for some good old public family messiness, to keep himself inserted into the story. Tommy lambasted Howard Stern on Twitter after Howard said it was probably Richie and Tommy who drove Heather to the breaking point after her last arrest.
