David Lynch Thinks Trump Could Go Down As One Of The Greatest Presidents In History (UPDATE)

If you ever needed a sign that we’re living in some backwards times, it might possibly be the one-two punch we’ve experienced in the past few days. Donald Trump’s former late-night bestie Jimmy Fallon has finally become the enemy, while weirdo director David Lynch popped out of nowhere and outed himself as a possible fan. 72-year-old white men with logic-defying hair gotta stick together, I guess?

David Lynch spoke to The Guardian about his memoir, Room to Dream, and was asked how he feels about Trump. David let it be known he’s undecided before going one step past Susan Sarandonville by saying:

“He could go down as one of the greatest presidents in history because he has disrupted the thing so much. No one is able to counter this guy in an intelligent way. Our so-called leaders can’t take the country forward, can’t get anything done. Like children, they are. Trump has shown all this.”

However, that’s not to say David Lynch bleeds orange. He endorsed Barack Obama in 2012, voted for Bernie Sanders in the 2016 Democratic primary, and voted Libertarian in the presidential election. Still, that hasn’t stopped Trump from taking what David said as an endorsement.

Eeesh, I’ve got to admit that David Lynch might now be my least-favorite David Lynch character (good news for you, Wally Brando). I’m sure that even in the Black Lodge, where nothing makes any sense, they’d agree that the Log Lady’s chunk of dry wood would make better presidential decisions than Trump. Because I’m a David Lynch fan, I’m going to choose to labor under the delusion that David Lynch was actually speaking in backwards-talk that just so happened to sound like English. And while I’m living that fantasy, someone check to see that David hasn’t been taking his coffee and cherry pie in a red MAGA hat on the grounds of Mar-a-Lago.

UPDATE: David Lynch must draw the line at getting mentioned in a Trump tweet, because he issued a clarification on his comments. David wrote a letter to Trump and posted it to Facebook, saying he wished the two could sit down and talk, and that if Trump keeps going the way he’s going, he won’t go down in history as one of the greatest Presidents.

Dear Mr. President,This is David Lynch writing. I saw that you re-tweeted the Breitbart article with the heading –…

Treat people like he’d want to be treated? There aren’t enough hours in the day for Trump to pat every citizen in American on the back with his diminutive hands while assuring them they’re the “bestest and most tremendous.
