Here Lies Kanye West’s Ego

June 15, 2018 / Posted by:

Kanye West took time away from healing the racial schism in America, contributing to the midterm elections and saving Chicago, to release some new music to the world.  Oh and you better believe 2018’s rap version of Plato served you up some Allegory of the Cave-reallness, honey.  Time for a mental and emotional deep dive into Kanye West’s psyche.  Strap in and strap on.

HotNewHipHop did what I won’t and listened to Mr. Kardashian West’s new album, in which Kanye tells us Yeezus has left the building and in his place comes to us the ego-free: Ye.  I know.  Either way you look at it, he’s removed three-to-four letters from his name or alias.  That’s a bold-ass move.  Bolder than writing a song about eating at Chipotle.

Ye took to the philosopher’s workshop of the current generation, Twitter, to elaborate on the personality renaissance:

I’ll believe Ye has killed his ego the day I believe the Flat Earth Society has uncovered the truth of humanity.  I’ll believe Ye has killed his ego the day I believe The Bachelor is authentic.  I’ll believe Ye has killed his ego the day I believe Roseanne Barr knows what she’s talking about.

Basically: I WON’T!

Kanye West and hubris go together like trees and photosynthesis.  And this also is not the first and only breakthrough Kanye West has ever had in his life.  And me thinks it won’t be the last one, either.  When it comes to men like Kanye West–whose entire career is based on having the ego of a hive-mind–there’s no way he just woke up one day and said to himself: “Maybe I’m not God?”  “Maybe me and my wife aren’t the Zeus and Hera of capitalist decay?”

And he also added this note:

RHYMEFEST is sitting in the house formerly known as Donda’s reading this tweet and laughing his ass off.
