Kesha Allegedly Sent A Text To Lady Gaga Accusing Dr. Luke Of Assaulting Katy Perry

Kesha has been battling her former producer and alleged abuser Dr. Luke for four years. She’s still contractually bound to him, and as of right now he’s suing her and her mother Pebe Sebert for defamation. Lady Gaga was dragged into Dr. Luke’s defamation suit about a year ago, and now Katy Perry is involved.

According to his lawsuit, Dr. Luke believes that Kesha has been spreading lies about him to a variety of people, including Lady Gaga. A little less than a year ago, Dr. Luke’s lawyers subpoenaed Gaga for texts that were sent between herself and Kesha. According to The Blast, Dr. Luke believed Kesha was guilty of three different defamatory actions. One, her claim that he raped her. Two, her claim that he drugged her. And the third one we didn’t know until recently, which is that Kesha texted Gaga with the allegation that Dr. Luke had also raped Katy Perry.

The texts were recently revealed in court in New York. According to the documents, Kesha sent Gaga a text on February 26, 2016 in which Kesha repeatedly claimed that Dr. Luke had assaulted her. Kesha also alleged that Dr. Luke assaulted Katy Perry. After the text conversation occurred, Gaga supposedly spread negative messages about Dr. Luke in the press and on social media. About a week after the texts were sent, Gaga publicly came out in support of Kesha during a radio interview, saying:

“I feel like she’s being very publicly shamed for something that happens in the music industry all the time, to women and men. I just want to stand by her side because I can’t watch another woman that went through what I’ve been through suffer.”

The day before the texts were sent, Gaga posted a message of support for Kesha on Instagram.

Dr. Luke worked with Katy Perry numerous times. He was the producer and co-writer on “I Kissed a Girl,” executive produced/co-wrote five songs on her album Teenage Dream and produced/co-wrote seven on Prism. Last year, Katy confirmed that she had stopped working with Dr. Luke, saying it was time for her to “leave the nest.” Dr. Luke claims in his lawsuit that Kesha’s badmouthing cost him jobs with Katy Perry, and believes he’s lost out on tens of millions.

Obviously Kesha’s allegations about Dr. Luke and Katy Perry are just that: allegations. The truth lies with Katy, and that’s up to her if she ever wants to speak. But the optics don’t look great. This new batch of texts is nothing but upsetting. I know Dr. Luke thinks that all these texts will set him free, but all I see is a guy who just keeps cementing his status in the Reputation Hall of Evil.
