CBS Released Trailers For The “Murphy Brown” Revival And The “Magnum P.I.” Reboot

CBS saw NBC and ABC getting big ratings for Will & Grace and Roseanne, and was just like, “Hold my beer.” The trailers for both the return of Murphy Brown and the new Magnum P.I. dropped. While Kween Candice Bergen, long-lost Louisiana gator Faith Ford and more are back for Murphy, Tom Selleck is NOWHERE to be found in the Magnum reboot. If there’s no facial hair, I won’t watch! (JK…wait until you see the abs on the newbie!)

First up, here’s the Magnum trailer:

Sigh…half the fun of watching the original Magnum P.I. was guessing if Tom was going to find a way to use his mustache or chest hair to pick a lock. What’s this beefcake going to do? Pick them with his pecs. OK, maybe I will watch. I’m pretty sure the rest of the CBS fall line-up is going to just be community access theater because it seems like they blew their budget on CGI special effects, a pretty British lady, and meat for this hot piece. OK, I’ll stop.

And now here’s Murphy Brown:

The REAL delight, per me, is seeing Candice & Co. back to take on the news AND the White House. Candy/Murphy says she left the biz because she couldn’t tell the evening news from an episode of Entertainment Tonight. That’s a huge compliment to Fox News since Kimberly Guilfoyle wishes she could be as delicate a swan as Mary Hart. In a shock to nobody, the premise of the show is all those FYI network tricks got stirred in the loins to return to TV to combat the new administration. The last time Candice did that, former Vice President Dan Quayle called her out. This time around, I’m sure Mike Pence will do the same – so long as Mother is standing next to him.
