Open Post: Hosted By The Backstreet Boys Making The Spice Girls Reunion Happen

May 9, 2018 / Posted by:

…sort of! The Spice Girls have been teasing us for months about a reunion. Most reports insisted the reunion would involve singing, but Victoria Beckham insisted it wouldn’t to the joy of eardrums everywhere. The Backstreet Boys must have had enough of this back and forth because they took it upon themselves to don drag and do the damn reunion on behalf of the Spices. Category is: Victor Victoria boy-to-girl group extravaganza!

Entertainment Weekly says the Backstreet Boys are doing a BSB Cruise. The idea of gorging on unlimited shrimp cocktails with “Everyboddddddy…Backstreet’s back, ALRIGHT!” blasting on a loop sounds like it’d be hell by the second day (or hour), but the Backstreet Boys of 2018 are a self-aware bunch! They decided to mix it up and go on stage in drag as the Spice Girls.

Nick Carter was Baby, Kevin Richardson was Posh (and maybe a little hybrid Cher?), AJ McLean was Scary (and probably giving Michelle Visage the dry heaves from her judging perch), Brian Littrell was Sporty, and Howie Dorough was Ginger. The boys heard it for the girls by saying, “Celebrating all of the girl power that’s kept us going for 25 years.” Awww. I looked and didn’t see any likes or comments by the actual Spice Girls, but I’m sure that’s because they’re too busy consulting with each of the Spice Boys for makeup tutorials.

The guys even performed a few of the Spice tracks, and by perform, I mean they did half-assed lip-synching.

I won’t name names, but that’s still about 75% more than you-know-who ever did in the band before fleeing for fashion!
