Danielle Staub Of “The Real Housewives Of New Jersey” Got Married
Twenty tiiiiiiimes?! Back in the early days of the Real Housewives empire, New Jersey unhinged its jaw at the first season finale to show those Atlanta broads the girls from the Garden State could be just as catty. Danielle Staub didn’t have too many friends that first season, and when the enemies got wind of a book talking about how she had been arrested and engaged “nineteen TIMES?!,” it was accompanied by Teresa Giudice and the table flip heard ‘round the world. Since then, those two made amends, and Danielle made it a nice, round 20 engagements…and finally walked down the aisle!
Us Weekly reports Danielle got married in the Bahamas to Marty Caffrey on Saturday. In a nod to Bravo job security, Teresa was matron of honor and RHONJ castmates Melissa Gorga and Margaret Josephs were bridesmaids. I guess Danielle and Marty having sex in a bathroom at Teresa’s restaurant last season really sealed their friendship! Yes, the whole thing was filmed (the wedding not the tryst…although, I’m sure that’s in Andy Cohen’s secret vault, too), and Danielle claimed didn’t get ready until the last minute:
“All my family, my friends, everyone’s checking in with me, and I’m like, ‘Guys, I haven’t showered, I still haven’t showered, and I’m getting married today.’”
Hygenic! Even though Danielle, of all people, should have the wedding and engagement game mastered since she’s been proposed to more times than there were seasons of Dallas, she said she was still getting nervous ahead of the big day:
“It’s different when you’re a girlfriend, and then it’s different when you’re a fiancée, the stages are all different. When it gets real, and we did our rehearsal last night, and we did our fake I do’s, it’s like, oh my God, we’re almost married. This is happening I felt like, when I saw his family last night for the first time after our rehearsal, on the beach, I felt them looking at me like I was a wife. And to me, and my daughters, looking at him like he is my husband. And I think it definitely made it super profound for me.”
Despite getting shoved off the show after the second season because none of the original cast could stand her ass, Danielle rose from the dead (aka from having to make appearances on VH1 or strip in New York) and came back to Real Housewives Of New Jersey last season in a “friend of”role. She’s confirmed for season nine, but nobody is saying what she’ll be doing. I really hope the new season of RHONJ involves Teresa and Danielle setting out to find that flipped table from season one to take it out to lunch and make peace with it for causing it so much embarrassment compared to the other Pier One furnishings in that restaurant.
