Kathy Griffin Isn’t Waiting Around For Anderson Cooper To Make Amends
The source of many a nervous twitch in the Trump White House, Kathy Griffin, is – much to the chagrin of the red states – back in the U.S. with a new comedy tour even after she shocked everyone by holding up a decapitated fake Trump head. While she already spooked what members of the Trump administration bothered to show up to this weekend’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, she managed to pop by daytime TV and tell Wendy Williams that she doesn’t think she’ll ever make amends with former BFF Anderson Cooper.
Page Six says even though most people seem to be coming around to the idea of Kathy performing again in the U.S., one person who won’t be reaching out is Anderson. As y’all know, after the whole photo controversy, Anderson blasted Kathy for doing something so “disgusting and innapropriate,” which Kathy seems to think is worse than even losing their one night of dual employment hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast:
“That one just hurt, I don’t even have a joke, when he turned on me, I didn’t even hear from him for two months.I thought, ‘Well, I guess I’m off the list.’”
She was later replaced by Andy Cohen, who she seriously dragged through the coals during most of her interview since those two have had a back-and-forth spat for a while. When Wendy asked if she’d accept an Anderson apology, Kathy replied, “He’s not that kind of guy. He and Jeff Zucker, who runs CNN, they’re not cut from that cloth.” As for whether she would get one from Andy, Kathy said he was too busy doing something, but that got bleeped. Oh, I just WONDER what that might be!!! Never say never, Kath! I’m sure there’s only so much chatter about the Real Housewives that A-Coop can take before he’ll beg for one of your dick jokes.
As for friends who WERE good to her, Kathy said Amy Schumer, Martin Sheen, and Pauley Perrette all reached out. What’s actually kind of fascinating is the night the Trump photo came out and everything blew up. Kathy was planning to host a dinner with Pimp Mama Kris and Melanie Griffith. Talk about a crisis team! Kris apparently told her to just apologize since her family did it all the time. Melanie apparently said she should have done one with a fake Mike Pence.
I’m sure after Melanie gave her side, Kris then narrowed her eyes and said, “Actually, we’ll have you apologize, get you on Primetime with Diane Sawyer, answer phones for a disaster relief telethon, and then you’ll coronate your return to everyone’s hearts with a self-branded lip kit.
