Angelina Jolie Will Appear In A Documentary With Queen Elizabeth II About Trees

According to People Queen Elizabeth loves trees. Angelina Jolie also loves trees. No reason why the two shouldn’t hook up and enjoy some trees together. I bet Lizzy’s got some sweet emerald encrusted bongs in her Crown Jewels drawer. Angie will be appearing in an ITV documentary called The Queen’s Green Planet and as I’m typing this I’m realizing my mistake. I think People is referring to actual trees not, you know, “trees”. So much for that fantasy. That was always more Brad’s bag anyway.

The documentary TQGP is actually about an environmental project called The Queen’s Canopy which “aims to unite all the countries of the Commonwealth in conservation efforts” and Angie is along for the ride. But as you know, Angie rolls deep so she flew her child army to Africa, carbon footprint be damned, to plant a couple of trees in Namibia.

Angie, ever relatable and down-to-earth, talks about explaining the project to her kids. According to People:

Speaking in the new documentary, Jolie says of her kids, “They ask me, ‘Why is it so important to her?’ You know when you sit up at night in a tent with your kids and they say, ‘Why does the Queen of England care about planting trees in Africa?’ ”

I cannot tell you how many times me and my mom had this exact conversation while camping. Angie went on to explain The Queen’s philosophy:

‘You know she’s just this really lovely lady who really cares about people around the world, and she really cares about the future, and she wants your grandkids and her grandkids to be able to be running around, enjoying nature and other cultures, and the importance of other cultures.’ ”

I know, Angie’s always accidentally on purpose slipping into third person speech. But this could also be true of QE2!
