Allison Mack From “Smallville” Might Soon Be Arrested For Her Involvement In A Sex Cult

Here’s a “Where are they now?” that no one probably saw coming back in the early 2000s. But this is definitely the sort of update that is bound to make Entertainment Weekly consider scratching Smallville off their list of future TV teen drama reunion covers.

For a few years now, there have been numerous internet stories about an alleged secretive sex cult masquerading as a “self-improvement” network marketing program called NXIVM. NXIVM made headlines last year after Catherine Oxenberg claimed that her 26-year-old daughter India had been trapped in the harem of sex slaves belonging to NXIVM’s “Vanguard,” 57-year-old NXIVM founder Keith Ranier. Keith had been accused multiple times online of reportedly branding female NXIVM members with his initials. Now for some news that is significantly less of a bummer: Keith was arrested in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Monday. After being immediately returned to Texas, he was charged with sex trafficking the following day.

One of the weirdest stories out there regarding NXIVM was that 35-year-old Allison Mack, who played Chloe Sullivan on Smallville, was a high-ranking member. According to some, Allison was Keith’s second in command and main harem recruiter. It was also alleged that women were branded with both Keith’s and Allison’s initials.

According to TMZ, Allison is the next person likely to get arrested by police. Authorities believe that NXIVM is a cult forcing women into sexual slavery, and if Allison really is the second in command, then she too could be arrested for sex trafficking. Footage was obtained of Keith’s arrest in Mexico on Monday (which was reportedly shot by NXIVM’s former publicist and recent whistle-blower). It shows Allison present during the arrest. Allison also reportedly chased the police as they drove away with Keith.

I’m sure anyone who has a family member trapped in NXIVM is thankful that the group is slowly but surely going down in flames. Allison Mack, on the other hand…despite what those carefree vacation clothes might tell you, she’s no doubt freaking out. Especially since it’s unlikely she saw this coming. A few years ago, Allison posted what appears to be a recruitment video to YouTube. At barely thirty-five seconds in, she explains that she hopes she’s remembered for her “joy,” her “spirit,” her “compassion.” Oh boy, I hate to break it to her, but sadly it looks like joy, spirit, and compassion are probably going to come after: “Was heavily involved in a weirdly-named cult.
