Mel B’s Ex Denies Showing ISIS Videos To Their Kids

Daddy-daughter movie night for some families might involve popcorn, the couch, and Frozen for the ten billionth time. But that’s not the kind of movie night you’ll get at Stephen Belafonte’s house, according to Mel B. Scary Spice filed papers last week in which she accused her ex-husband of showing ISIS beheading videos to their daughters Phoenix, Angel, and Madison. Stephen denied doing so, but it doesn’t end there. He too has some messy allegations to throw around.

Mel B is currently trying to block Stephen’s visitation rights to Angel, her daughter with Eddie Murphy. Stephen wants visitation because he’s been around Angel since she was a baby. (Phoenix, her daughter with Jimmy Gulzar, doesn’t really want anything to do with Stephen. Mel B and Stephen share Madison). TMZ says that Stephen responded to Mel B’s claims by filing papers of his own, accusing Mel B of making up lies in an attempt to turn Angel against him. He says Mel B’s allegation that he’s shown the girls ISIS beheading videos is a “blatant lie.” He adds that he’s never even searched for videos like that.

Stephen then argues that he’s the better parent by accusing Mel B of being drunk or high all the time. He claims Mel B often walks into walls in the middle of the day, and that she has been so drunk, she has pulled down her pants in front of the kids and tried to pee on the couch. Stephen alleges that he used to beg Mel B’s therapist to stop prescribing her drugs, for fear she might end up like Michael Jackson. On the other side of the coin, Mel B has previously accused Stephen of being the one who kept her medicated and drunk.

Another alleged lie Stephen says Mel B has told were her stories of domestic abuse. Mel B has accused Stephen of many awful instances of abuse, like striking her in the head in London in 2014. Stephen claims Mel B was hospitalized after OD’ing on drugs, and that she suffered damage and bruising from the EKG and IV machines during her stay. He also swears he never forced Mel B into any three-ways.

Stephen claims he’s never even typed the words “ISIS video” into a search engine. And yet, this isn’t the first time this accusation has been made against Stephen. The proof is obviously located in Stephen’s internet search history, but is there anyone brave enough to rappel into that cave of awful? I just don’t even want to know what is lurking in there. I’m fine living under the delusion that the weirdest thing he’s searched for is how to remove pee pee from couch upholstery.
