Chelsea Clinton Says She And Ivanka Trump Haven’t Talked In Ages
I guess Chelsea Clinton just doesn’t have a stiff upper lip! Who wouldn’t want to hang out with the gal whose father calls their mother “crooked” and a “nasty woman”?! As y’all know, Chelsea and Ivanka Trump were the OG Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss of the Upper East Side…or something like that.
They were friends and claimed they were still friends at the start of the 2016 presidential campaign when it emerged their respective mother and father would be duking it out for the Oval Office. We all know how that dumpster fire went, and Chelsea is here to say she hasn’t exactly picked up the phone to call Ivanka and gab away about the hottest gossip in Moscow.
People says Chelsea showed up on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Tuesday, and she kind of threw it out there that they weren’t exactly friends. Instead of just being an adult about it and Instagramming a photo of her captioned with a quote by an enemy (in Ivanka’s case, either a competing Kohl’s shoe line empress OR Kim Jong-un), Chelsea had to go and say she was just disappointed in Ivanka’s choice to support her dad’s political agenda:
“It’s clear that she has supported policies and decisions that I don’t agree with. I’ve been very vocal about my opposition to President Trump. I certainly am just really sad that we’re at a point in time … where we have a president who has such callous disregard for thoughtful, coherent, expert-advised foreign policy. [It] is something I would hope, regardless of where we sit on the political spectrum, we would agree on.”
Even though Ivanka said last year that they’re good friends, Chelsea notes the two hadn’t spoken in a really long time. But that doesn’t necessarily mean y’all are on the outs, Chelsea! Everyone knows that if you want to speak to a member of the Trump family, you have to just tweet an Ann Coulter inspirational quote or the mark of the Death Eaters to stir their loins! Well, except if you want to get in touch with Melania Trump. You have to whisper the words, “The secret exit out is behind the photo of Mary Todd Lincoln in the fourth-floor bathroom,” to get in touch with her!
