The Razzies: “The Emoji Movie” Triumphed (And There Was An “In Memoriam” For Harvey Weinstein’s Career)

March 4, 2018 / Posted by:

Happy Oscar Sunday! But enough about them, let’s talk about the only awards ceremony that matters – the Golden Raspberry Awards (aka The Razzies). The Razzies clown on the worst Hollywood has to offer which makes it the only cinematic awards competition worth our attention. The Emoji Movie triumphed this year, winning several award equivalents of its breakout star – the poop emoji. A record was set as this was the first time in Razzie history that an animated film won “Worst Picture.” Reach for the stars, The Emoji Movie!

This year’s awards also featured an “In Memoriam” segment for the careers of disgraced film executive and alleged sexual sociopath Harvey Weinstein and the other alleged celebrity creepers. Consider that a preview of this evening’s cringefest featuring an auditorium full of funeral-clad celebrities, already anxious and uncomfortable from having to dodge Ryan  Seacrest and E! on the red carpet, and wondering if they should laugh at Jimmy Kimmel’s jokes about sexual harassment or angrily boo. Party!
