Harvey Weinstein Is Being Sued For Something Other Than Sexual Assault

It’s kind of a nice change, he typed weakly? The prototype for alleged evil rapists with power, Harvey Weinstein, is being sued for spying on one of his alleged victims. Argh, so yeah, this post IS sort of about sexual assault. Hold tight, there’s a fluffy Mariah Carey post scheduled for today, I swear!

Variety reports that actress (and alleged Weinstein rape victim) Paz de la Huerta’s former attorneys filed a lawsuit on Friday against Harvey, the Weinstein Company (from which Harvey has been ousted), and NYC attorney Michael F. Rubin. The suit claims that Harv hired Rubin to “spy on” and seek “to gain information from” Paz last fall. They’re also claiming that Weinstein’s alleged flunky tried to convince Paz not to file charges against Harvey for allegedly raping her.

At the time that all of this supposedly went down, Paz’s lawyer was one Aaron Filler of a Santa Monica, CA law firm called Tensor Law. Paz ended up dropping him as a lawyer, and Filler is claiming that this was also due to Harvey’s machinations. Paz is reportedly working with the NYPD after accusing Harvey of raping her twice in 2010.

And just in case you thought this suit was all about helping the supposed victim…

Filler also blames Rubin for persuading de la Huerta to drop him as her attorney, and contends that Rubin interfered with his contractual relationship and potentially deprived him of $20 million in legal fees.

Rubin says that “every allegation in that lawsuit is false.

Wouldn’t it have been a little less trashy to wait until Harvey went to jail (*fingers crossed*) to file this suit? Wait, are you cut off from your money in the joint? Perhaps that’s why this Filler guy filed already. Harvey has allegedly been able to silence multiple actresses into remaining silent about his true identity of “deviant pile of protoplasm.” This freed him to earn millions over the years! What if he buys the jail they send him to? Or he sets it up so he’s at one of those tennis court-type jails that’s like a spa for shady hedge fund managers?
