Jason Bateman’s Wife Amanda Anka Has Accused Hotelier André Balazs Of Groping Her

Here’s a real yucky one for you! It must be Friday. Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka have confirmed a story about hotelier André Balazs being an alleged dirty rotten pussy grabber. Not for nothin’, André, who owns The Standard hotels and the Chateau Marmont, used to date both Uma Thurman and Chelsea Handler. Say what now?

The New York Times reports that Jason and Amanda were in London for the premiere of Horrible Bosses 2 and attended a party hosted by André at his fancy hotel The Chiltern. A gang of other people were there too including co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day. André took them all on a tour of the place which necessitated filing up a firehouse ladder. That’s when things got gross, allegedly.

Ms. Anka was wearing a burgundy leather dress and was hesitant to climb the ladder, according to witnesses. But Mr. Balazs insisted. As she navigated the steps, these people said, Mr. Balazs slipped a hand under her skirt and grabbed her crotch.

Amanda told everybody what happened and people saw it go down, including Charlie’s wife who said in a statement “I witnessed behavior by André Balazs that was inappropriate and offensive”. Jason was having none of it and confronted André and SPAT HIS GUM OUT IN HIS FACE. Damn, son! I had a crush on Jason back when he was on It’s Your Move, I’m glad to know it was justified. Here’s the statement the couple released last week confirming this story.

“On behalf of Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka, we can confirm that the account of André Balazs’s outrageous and vile behavior on that night in London is factual,” the statement said. “His actions were dealt with at the time.”

It seems this pussy grabbing business has been André’s M.O. for some time. Several other women have come out with similar stories. One woman who worked at the front desk at Chateau Marmont in the 1990s says André took her to a mud wrestling club, pinned her against the wall, stuck his mouth on hers and his fingers where they didn’t belong. The NYT verified this and reported on another very similar incident as well.

I would say it’s hard to believe that Uma and Chelsea, both outspoken women who have expressed anger about sexual misconduct in the industry, dated this dude but I’m fresh out of surprises these days. For us regulars, we have six degrees of Kevin Bacon but in Hollywood they probably only have like one or two tops. André moved in lots of muckity muck Hollywood and super wealthy circles. I might actually be able to find a surprise hidden in the back of a drawer somewhere if we don’t hear more stories about his wayward hands.
