Another Woman Has Accused George Bush Sr. Of Sexual Assault

You know that saying about if you see one cockroach, there’s a hundred more hidden in the walls? It appears the walls contain more than one tale of former POTUS George H. Bush’s allegedly cockroach-y behavior. A old man allegedly acting creepy? Huh, never heard that one before.

On Tuesday, actress Heather Lind came forward on Instagram in a since-deleted post and accused a wheelchair-bound George Sr. of putting his hand on her butt twice and cracking a dirty joke during a photo at an event in 2014. A spokesperson for George Sr. apologized on his behalf and said that it was never his intention to offend anyone with a joke. Deadspin says a New York-based actress named Jordana Grolnick has a similar story.

In August of 2016, Jordana was performing in a production of Hunchback of Notre Dame in Maine. George Bush Sr. and Barbara Bush (who summer in nearby Kennebunkport and caught the show) came backstage at intermission for a photo. Jordana claims that some of the cast warned her that George Sr. had a reputation for getting handsy, but she paid it no mind because, in her words, “he was in a wheelchair.” George Sr. and Bar gathered the cast around, and that’s when George Sr. allegedly grabbed Jordana’s ass after telling the following joke:

“Do you want to know who my favorite magician is? David Cop-a-Feel!”

Jordana claims that everyone responded with polite laughter. Barbara allegedly cut the tension with a joke about how he’s going to get himself put in jail, which was met with more laughter.

Jordana says that she told a lot of people after it happened, and no one believed her. The first person she told was her grandmother, who laughed it off and assured her that George Sr. is old and hasn’t been well for years. Jordana eventually convinced herself the butt-grab was the work of a “dirty old man.

His mind may be getting old, but apparently it’s still good at remembering jokes. Deadspin points out that the David Cop-a-Feel joke is apparently a favorite of George Sr.

A spokesperson for George Bush Sr. responded to the latest allegation with another apology and an excuse:

“At age 93, President Bush has been confined to a wheelchair for roughly five years, so his arm falls on the lower waist of people with whom he takes pictures. To try to put people at ease, the president routinely tells the same joke – and on occasion, he has patted women’s rears in what he intended to be a good-natured manner. Some have seen it as innocent; others clearly view it as inappropriate. To anyone he has offended, President Bush apologizes most sincerely.”

Someone needs to inform George Bush Sr. that, 93-years-old and in a wheelchair or not, unless he wants the David Cops-to-be-called, he better keep his paws off of butts.
