Pink And Her Husband Didn’t Have Sex For A Year

Pink’s got a new record out (Beautiful Trauma), so she’s giving those interviews. Some of the album’s tracks are about her marriage and the difficulties that come with remaining with one person for the long haul. In a talk with The Guardian, she noted how hard monogamy can be and that it once resulted in her and husband Carey Hart not having sex for a year. That’s probably not the best way to go about enforcing monogamy? But Pink wrote “Don’t Let Me Get Me” so we can probably trust her when it comes to matters of the heart (and genitals).

Pink’s been with her multi-racing vehicle hubby for 11 years, they’ve got two kids, and she keeps it fresh by realizing she both loves and hates his ass sometimes. Typing as a married man – I feel you, Ms. Alecia.

“There are moments where I look at [Hart] and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant … he’s like a rock. He’s a good man. He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some. And then I’ll look at him and go: I’ve never liked you. There’s nothing I like about you. We have nothing in common. I don’t like any of the shit you like. I don’t ever wanna see you again. Then two weeks later I’m like, things are going so good, you guys. Then you’ll go through times when you haven’t had sex in a year. Is this bed death? Is this the end of it? Do I want him? Does he want me?” She takes a breath. “Monogamy is work! But you do the work and it’s good again.”

Amen, sister. There’s no way in hell that you can enjoy the presence of your longtime partner 24-7. There are indeed times when you’re like “if I WAS going to murder him, where would I put the body? He’s a big bear of a man, so I’d have to dig a really big hole and I’m not sure that I have the stamina for that sort of physical labor. Murder’s too strenuous. I think I’ll express my temporary dislike for him and HIS INCESSANT WHISTLING by side-eyeing him resentfully and seeking the solace of Word Connect on my iPad.”
