Rose McGowan Accused Ben Affleck Of Fully Knowing About Harvey Weinstein’s Behavior (UPDATE)
As many have already done, Ben Affleck spoke out yesterday with shock and horror in response to the dozens of allegations made against Harvey Weinstein. There was at least one person who wasn’t buying Ben’s statement, and that’s Rose McGowan.
Rose and Ben worked together in 1998 on the movie Phantoms, which was distributed by Miramax. We also know that Rose McGowan has a very low tolerance for bullshit. So she started out simple enough:

Then she proceeded to bring up an anecdote about how familiar he was with Harvey’s reputation.

Ben is probably like “Come on, I stood up for her! Stop acting like I’m my brother Casey or something.”
Not very long after Ben Affleck tweeted about how sad he was to hear about Harvey’s sexual harassment allegations, a twitter user reminded everyone about the time he went on TRL in the early-2000s and grabbed one of MTV VJ Hilarie Burton’s boobs. Not that Hilarie needed reminding, of course.

Hilarie came out with further evidence. She tweeted a TRL look-back montage, showing the boob grab. After Ben leaned over and grabbed Hilarie, he creepily asked her “How old are you, 19?“‘ Hilarie tweeted that she laughed to keep from crying.
Ben hasn’t responded to either Rose’s allegation or the video with Hilarie.
Ben has always struck me as a down-low creep; something about those beady eyes, I guess. But I never had MTV as a kid (because = Canada), and this revelation about Hilarie’s boob, compounded with Rose’s accusation of two-faced activity has me seriously grossed out with Ben. On the upside, at least Casey Affleck can sleep sleazy knowing he won’t be the only Affleck brother to get an endless amount of disgusted side-eye from his aunts and cousins at this year’s extended family Thanksgiving dinner.
UPDATE: Ben is super sorry for acting like a total creep to Hilarie Burton.
