“Dancing With The Stars” Partners Vanessa Lachey And Maksim Chmerkovskiy Reportedly Can’t Stand Each Other
Both UsWeekly and People are reporting that Dancing with the Stars could be changed to Drama with the Stars, because there’s all kinds of rehearsal room drama between Vanessa Lachey and her dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. You’d think that becoming a dad would have mellowed Maks out a little, but apparently he’s still kind of a high-maintenance diva dick.
It’s the third week of the 25th season of DWTS, and it’s a mess backstage between Vanessa and Maks. A source tells UsWeekly says that things are “not going well.”
“There is a lot of fighting going on behind the scenes. Their personalities are very similar so they disagree about everything. They refuse to give into one another. They’re playing nice for the cameras but both are miserable paired with each other.”
Maks was MIA during last night’s episode, and Vanessa was re-partnered with Alan Bersten, who was dancing with Debbie Gibson until she was sent home last week. DWTS didn’t even air the usual backstage practice package they usually show before a couple dances.
The reason that was given for Maks’ absence during the broadcast was that he was dealing with a “personal issue.” Yeah, an issue with a person named Vanessa Lachey. A source tells People that Maks didn’t show up to practice and chose not to perform simply because he’s not getting along with Vanessa.
“There’s a big chemistry issue. They both have big personalities and that’s not always the best recipe for a good partnership.”
Despite all the drama, Vanessa and Maks have pulled some pretty high scores so far.
This isn’t the first time Maks has had personal issues with his partner. Hope Solo (who danced with Maks during the 13th season of DWTS) once alleged that Maks roughed her up during rehearsals.
Vanessa probably really wanted to take that mirror ball trophy home and wave it gleefully in her husband and fellow DWTS contestant Nick Lachey’s face. But Maks is screwing things up with his pettiness. Honestly, they should just cut him and reassign Vanessa to a new partner. But not just any partner – why not sexy silver mic-holder Tom Bergeron! Tom has been hosting the show for 25 damn seasons. You know he’s just itching to get out there and cha-cha-cha to the America’s Funniest Home Videos theme song.
