Taylor Swift And Karlie Kloss Are Still Totally BFFs
Forget about what you’ve heard. Taylor Swift has definitely, absolutely, 100% not grabbed her Miss Cutie Craft squiggle-blade craft scissors and cut Karlie Kloss out of her life. Pay no attention that shirt you’ve heard of. No, not the one she’s selling for $50 and makes Tom Hiddleston feel deeply embarrassed at his life choices. The other one.
But let’s pay attention to that shirt for a second. So earlier this week when Taylor Swift finally released the video for “Look What You Made Me Do,” one of the Old Taylors seen at the end is dressed in the homemade t-shirt with all her best friends’ names written on it like in the video for “You Belong With Me.” Old Taylor’s shirt has the names of her best squad members, like Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. A few names were suspiciously absent. One-time attempted deflector Lorde, for example. People were quick to note that nowhere seen on the shirt was the name KARLIE written in marker with a little heart over the I. Uh oh, trouble in tall blonde paradise.
Karlie, you’re not in the Junior Jewels club anymore! Go home! Take your extra-long sleeping bag with you! But please leave the kookies you brought to the sleepover.
Karlie’s missing name seemed like the final safety pin (because Taylor is edgy like that now) in the coffin of their friendship. Last year, Karlie was forced to defend her friendship with Taylor after Karlie didn’t immediately jump on Team Taylor after the whole Snapchat snake debacle with Kim Kardashian. Except according to a source that spoke with UsWeekly, it’s not like that, okay? Taylor + Karlie = FRIENDS FOREVER.
“Taylor and Karlie are still very much good friends. Taylor respects Karlie so much for doing her own thing and being smart,” the insider tells Us. “Taylor has so much admiration for her, especially for educating girls with coding.”
That’s totally a thing regular human people say, right? Yes, that person and I are still very much good friends. Often we can be seen making conversation, or sharing a meal of food. Occasionally we laugh.
So if Taylor hasn’t kicked Karlie out of her friend group, then why wasn’t her name on that shirt? Does Taylor have an extra-special shirt dedicated solely to her friendship with Karlie? I’m sure that’s not weird at all. All I know for sure is that there’s a very simple test to determine if Taylor Swift really is actually still good friends with Karlie Kloss. Which is of course if Taylor and Karlie are willing to appear on a box of Kashi Good Friends cereal together. I’ll be keeping my eye on the cereal aisle.
