Hot Slut Of The Day!
Yesterday, many of us asked the question, “Er, does this mean I don’t have to pay my credit card bills anymore?”, after hearing that the barbecued pigs in a blanket fingers of a certain mutated pizza bubble overlord are hovering dangerously close to the nuclear button. (SPOILER ALERT: We still have to pay our credit cards bills. If the world was completely destroyed and you found yourself being the last living human on earth and sitting on a pile of rubble, a roach would skedaddle up to you, holding a credit card bill with a late payment on it. Capital One doesn’t even sleep for the apocalypse.) So because two melting pumpkin-headed man brats have decided to play a game of Risk: Nuclear Edition and people are talking nuclear war, I must hurry and fulfill my promise of making everyone from the 80s sitcom jewel It’s A Living a HSOTD. Priorities: I always got them.
Ann Jillian, Gail Edwards, Barrie Youngfellow and the Above the Top restaurant have all been HSOTD before, and now it’s Susan Sullivan’s turn. Everyone should know what It’s A Living was about (and if you don’t, you need to go back to school), but it followed the riveting lives of waitresses at a restaurant on top of the Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Susan Sullivan played Lois, one of the five original waitresses. She was only on the first season and was replaced by Louise Lasser. (It’s A Living lasted for six seasons. Two seasons on ABC and four seasons in syndication.) Even though Susan was barely on It’s A Living, I’m sure she considers it the peak of her career. Susan was on Another World for a while, was lucky enough to be in Falcon Crest, played Greg’s hot WASP of a mom on Dharma & Greg and was Castle’s mom on Castle, but who cares about all of those roles! Whenever a fan drops to their knees in front of her in public, or when a chef at a restaurant sends her the most expensive bottle of champagne they have, it isn’t because of those roles. It’s because she played Lois in It’s A Living! “Oh my fucking god, it’s Lois from It’s A Living!” is definitely the line that Susan Sullivan hears most.
And here’s the season one intro and first episode of It’s A Living. We may as well take in some 80s glamour as the world burns.
