Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters Made Ed Sheeran Quit Twitter

Ed Sheeran might be giving the universal hand signal for “all good” in that picture with Lady Gaga. But lo and behold, not all has been good for Ed Sheeran when it comes to Lady Gaga and her Little Monsters. Ed admitted during an interview with The Sun on Sunday that he quit Twitter, and it was because he couldn’t handle all the hate.

Ed didn’t delete his Twitter account; it’s still very much up and running. Ed says his Instagram will automatically generate tweets, but that’s it. Sensitive Ed doesn’t want to accidentally slip into his mentions and see the mean shit people say about him.

“I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it. The head-fuck for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”

One of the final straws came after he did an interview in which Lady Gaga’s rabid army assumed he was coming for her. He says he wasn’t, but that didn’t stop them from being evil little nightmares to him.

“Lady Gaga’s fanbase read an interview in which they assumed I was talking about her and they all fucking hate. And it wasn’t anything to do with that at all. So I think Twitter gets on a massive steam roll of assuming things and then you get in the shit.”

Ed says that if he wants to connect with someone, he talks to his family and friends, because they don’t call him names.

Shortly after Ed’s interview came out, Lady Gaga posted the picture above on Instagram  and slapped at anyone on the internet who threatened him with violence.

“What an incredible talented artist I LOVE ED. @teddysphotos deserves all our love and respect like all humans do. I wish all people on the internet would be positive and loving and apart of creating an online community that is kind and empowering, not hateful and mean. No reason to tear down an artist simply because they are on top. Work harder to be kinder everybody. That should be your first duty to humanity.”

I can’t believe the Twitter haters got to Ed. That’s not how it’s supposed to work! Ed is Taylor Swift’s most favorite boy, and as such, he should be entitled to her most comprehensive friendship benefit package. The second he got hate on Twitter, he should have called up Taylor to summon her loudest squad members to hiss back on his behalf. Surely his loyalty is worth more than just some crappy jam and the odd squad hook-up.
