Ariel Winter’s Mother Wishes She’d Cover Up A Little
When 19-year-old Ariel Winter is not playing nerdy uptight Alex Dunphy on Modern Family, she’s proving she’s not nerdy uptight Alex Dunphy by THOT-ing it up. Of course, there will always be people who just can’t seem to appreciate Ariel’s enthusiasm for hoochie looks. One of them is her estranged mother Chrystal Workman.
Chrystal, a proud inductee of the Stage Mother Hall of Shame, hasn’t really had any contact with Ariel since she was removed from her custody and placed with her other daughter Shannelle Workman in 2012. Chrystal was accused of physically and emotionally abusing Ariel, as well as allegedly trying to sexualize her at a young age. Ariel was emancipated from Chrystal two years ago. Still, you can’t deny a mother’s intuition to yell at their kid to put on some clothes. But since Chrystal can’t do it in person, she’s done it through In Touch.
“She needs to grow up. I would tell her to dress properly, be the beautiful person she is. I feel sad that she feels the need to expose herself when it’s not necessary. Ariel is smart, beautiful and talented. She is a legitimate actress. She does not need to do this. She is beautiful with her clothes on.”
Chrystal also got in a quick denial of those abuse allegations by saying: “I would not do that.”
Ariel doesn’t have time for fashion haters, and she especially doesn’t have time for people who talk about her through tabloids. Ariel responded to InTouch’s article by tweeting a not-so-vague message to a certain “toxic” someone.
What's sad is that you lie consistently. Also, why is it that you only choose to talk to me through the press? I'm doing just fine. ?Toxic.

To me, Chrystal’s opinion is invalid. I believe that before a mother runs to the press, she must first have a dramatic confrontation in a kitchen that includes the mom hissing “You’re not leaving the house in that” while using a wooden spoon as a pointer. Skipping that step renders the complainer’s opinion null and void.
