Melanie Griffith Says She Wasn’t Aware How Much Her Surgeries Had Changed Her Face

It’s not exactly a secret that for the past two decades, Melanie Griffith has been working a pretty un-Melanie mug. That pic above is from 1999. Melanie says she realized that something was up with her face after hearing about six million “Uh Melanie? I think your face is melting” jokes.

Melanie tells Porter magazine (via E! News) that she was unaware that the surgeries she says she got over 20 years ago made her look like the lab experiment love child of herself and her pet lion, and she regrets it. I guess she’s ok with the work she’s had since then? Err…okay.

“No, I didn’t [realize] until people started saying, ‘Oh my god, what has she done?!’ I was so hurt. I went to a different doctor, and he started dissolving all of this shit that this other woman doctor had put in. Hopefully, I look more normal now.”

Just for comparison, this is a picture of Melanie taken back in October. I don’t know if this is the work of her old doctor or her new doctor, but I’d say she looks a whole lot more like the real Melanie Griffith than she has lately.

I’m sure that many Beverly Hills interior designers thought they hit the jackpot after reading what Melanie said about not realizing she looked different. It sounds like Melanie doesn’t have a single mirror in her home. But that’s crazy, of course she has mirrors. She just wasn’t able to focus on her face in the mirror. Those surgeries happened around the same time as she got her Antonio tattoo. So when she looked in the mirror, her eyes never made it to her face because they were immediately dragged downward to her tattoo. It wasn’t until she had it partially lazered off that she was set free from its hypnotizing spell and was finally able to see her face again.
