Daniel Craig Is Most Likely Going To Play James Bond Again

Page Six says that the seemingly never-ending search for the new James Bond is over and it’s….Daniel Craig. Congratulations, Daniel Craig, you did it!

Multiple sources claim Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has convinced Daniel to stick around for his fifth and final film. Barbara produced his off-Broadway production of Othello, which was critically well-received. One source says Daniel wanted to be seen as a serious actor, and he thinks his turn in Othello did that.

“Daniel was very pleased with how Othello went and the great reviews. Now Daniel’s talks with Barbara are going in the right direction. They have a script, and they’ll go into production as soon as Daniel is ready to commit.”

Another source adds that Daniel had such a great time in Othello that he was ready to do another fancy watch and car commercial…I mean, Bond movie.

This is all good for Barbara, because it sounds like she never really wanted Tom Hiddleston. According to one source, Barbara cringed at Tom’s desperate publicity stunt with Taylor Swift and his Golden Globes speech. The source added that Barbara thought Tom was “a bit too smug and not tough enough.” I don’t know about that, Barbara. Not once during any of his PDA-filled photo-ops with America’s Girlfriend did he break down and start crying about how dirty it feels to sell your soul for some cheap publicity. I’d say that takes some real mental strength.

Daniel once said he’d rather slash his wrists than play Bond a fifth time, and that he’d only do it for the money. Several months ago, it was reported that Sony was trying to lure Daniel in with $150 million for two more movies. Page Six doesn’t say how much they’re offering to Daniel for his last Bond movie. Just for context, The Rock – the highest-paid actor of 2016 – made $64.5 million. I don’t know if Daniel Craig deserves more money than The Rock. I’d really have to see what Daniel looks like in a turtleneck and leather fanny pack before I make that decision.
