Presenting… Bo Bice Bringing The Tears And Emotion Over Being Called A “White Boy” At Popeyes

Whatever you’re suffering from, get over it, because nobody is suffering more than American Idol 4’s runner-up Bo Bice!

I thought that 2016 was the year of ridiculously random feuds, but that title may now belong to 2017 thanks to Bo Bice beefing chickening with Popeyes over being called a “white boy” by one of their employees. Bo Bice, who cut off his luscious mane and got glasses, let the raw tears pour out of him after he dramatically told the traumatic tale of the “reverse racism” he suffered through at a Popeyes during an interview with Fox5. I kept waiting for the Funny Or Die logo to pop up in the corner of his interview.

Bo Bice was passing through the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, GA last Friday when he stopped into a Popeyes to fill his stomach with some authentic cajun deliciousness. While waiting for his food, Bo said that one employee asked “whose food” was ready, to which another employee motioned to him and said, “that white boy.” Bo says that the employees also made fun of his name. That chicken fried oppression made Bo Bice cry into his dirty rice and he left a message on Popeyes’ customer service line. When he didn’t hear from them, he took it to Facebook and demanded an apology. That post was later deleted by Facebook, which really set Bo Bice off. He also tagged Fox5, which is probably how he got that interview.

Bo Bice said this to Fox5 and it sounds like he was dangerous close to saying, “I am the Rosa Parks of white men!

“If tables had been turned and I used something as insensitive like that… I would be boycotted, people wouldn’t buy my albums. It’s time for us to wake up and start having some dialogue. It’s not 1960, it’s 2017 and we are all adults here.”

Never mind that things would’ve gone very, very differently if this happened in 1960 Atlanta, people are still buying Bo Bice albums?

Bo Bice really got forty five shades of extra while saying that America should be ashamed of itself for him having to “look like a petty little brat by tweeting and Facebooking this just to open up dialogue so we can have an adult conversation.” Bo Bice is right. That’s the only reason why America should be ashamed of itself. And really, the Golden Globes are this Sunday and they better do a special tribute to this dramatic performance of pure perfection.

Popeyes has apologized and Bo followed up with another post on Facebook. Bo says that the manager of the Popeyes offered to fire the employee who offended him, but he graciously saved that employee’s job and suggested she go to sensitivity training.

There’s a part of me that thinks that Bo Bice is so upset because they didn’t recognize him. And that is a real reason for America to be ashamed of itself, because in 2017, we should all immediately recognize THEE Bo Bice in an airport Popeyes.
