Billie Lourd Will Take Care Of Gary Fisher

After many people finished scraping up the souls that fell out of their bodies from reading about how the one-of-a-kind Carrie Fisher is no longer with us, their first thought was probably, “But what will happen to Gary Fisher?!!

Gary was Carrie’s beloved 4-year-old Frenchie who was the Thelma to her Louise, the Michele to her Romy and the Turner to her Hooch. (Now I’ve given myself the sads again from thinking about how we’ll never get to see a Turner & Hooch reboot starring Carrie and Gary.) Gary Fisher was Carrie’s sidekick, confidante, emotional support pet and the wind beneath her wings. That wasn’t a fart joke, but if you took it that way, it works since a French bulldog farts like no other.

Gary went everywhere with Carrie so he was with her when she went into cardiac arrest on the flight from London. Gary also visited her in the hospital. TMZ says that Gary isn’t going to be an orphan and he probably won’t spend all of his waking minutes lying at Carrie’s grave. (Motherfuck, I just gave myself the sads again again.) Gary is going off to live with Carrie’s daughter Billie Lourd. That’s what Carrie wanted.

A family source told TMZ, Carrie always wanted Billie to take Gary if something happened to her. If, for some reason, Billie can’t care for Gary for the long haul, the dog will remain in the family.

The source says that Gary’s best friend is Tina, Billie’s Frenchie.

Since Gary was Carrie’s best friend, I figured that he would stay in the family and I’m glad he’s got Tina Lourd now. Gary Fisher will forever be my favorite dog member of the Fisher family, but Tina Lourd is a close second for the simple fact that she shares a name with the hottest ginger goddess of daytime soap operas.
