Nicole Scherzinger’s Anti-Abortion Beliefs Almost Kept Her From Doing The “Dirty Dancing” TV Movie

Pictured: Nicole Scherzinger making the same disgusted stank face that all of us made while reading the cast list for the Dirty Dancing remake that need not exist.

ABC decided to join the rest of Hollywood in taking a machete to your childhood and the classics when it gave the thumbs up to a completely unnecessary Dirty Dancing musical movie starring Little Miss Sunshine as Baby, this pillar of chiseled hotness as Johnny Castle, Debra Messing as Baby’s mom, Bruce Greenwood as Baby’s dad, Sarah Hyland as Baby’s sister, Billy Dee Williams as Tito Suarez, Casper Not-So-Smart as Billy, Katey Sagal as Vivian Pressman, Shane Harper as Robbie and low-rent Apollonia Nicole Scherzinger as Penny.

Penny, played by Cynthia Rhodes in the only Dirty Dancing movie we need, gets knocked up with that slut Robbie’s baby and gets an abortion. Nicole tells The Daily Mail that she’s catholic and that her family is firmly against abortion. So she almost didn’t take the part, because she didn’t want to “promote” abortion. Oh yes, that movie where a woman almost dies after getting a back alley abortion is the pro-abortion propaganda film of our time!

Nicole tells the DM that her mother got pregnant with her at 17 and it was her mom’s choice to have her. So one would guess that would mean that Nicole believes that a woman should be the one who chooses what to do with her body. But Nicole went on to say that her grandparents would’ve never let her mom have an abortion anyway and she wants to encourage women to not have an abortion. And Nicole believes that her role in Dirty Dancing may do that.

“I was like a crazy thing because, my family, my Papa’s a Bishop and my family’s really hardcore against abortion. So I got the role and I almost didn’t take it because I didn’t want to promote abortion, because my character has an abortion. But I was like, hopefully they can learn from you know her ways and I can be a positive influence. My mum got pregnant with me when she was 17 and had me when she was 18. She chose.

Her parents were never going to let her have an abortion. So I came out, so I just want to you know encourage everybody to keep your babies. We decided that maybe I could be a voice, that I could shed some light on the subject without being preachy.”

Nicole ultimately decided to take the job after her preacher grandfather prayed on it and decided she must do it. Translation: Nicole ultimately decided to take the role after her agent told her that a check is a check and she’s not the one to be turning down jobs. And I’m sure  Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is thinking to himself, “Girl, you should’ve asked your grandad to pray for your career too.

Nicole’s beliefs are Nicole’s beliefs, but if she doesn’t want to promote abortion, then she should’ve said no to that job. Because the TV remake of Dirty Dancing is probably going to be the biggest abortion ever.

Here’s Nicole nearly face-posing her inner tube lips off while going into a club in London earlier this week:
