Johnny Depp Is Dragging His Feet On Paying Amber Heard’s $6.8 Million Settlement

Two weeks ago, it was reported that the ongoing messiness between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was finally rounding the corner and nearing the finish line. Johnny and Amber had been arguing back and forth about how Amber’s settlement money was going to get to the charities of her choice. Amber wanted to donate her $7 million divorce settlement to the ACLU and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles herself. Johnny wanted to cut both organizations a direct check. Amber then accused Johnny of trying to using said donations as tax write-offs. Eventually Johnny decided to pay Amber and she would donate it. Well, The Daily Mail says that money from Johnny isn’t on its way.

Johnny had already paid $200,000 in donations to Amber’s charities, so she was expecting to receive payments totaling $6.8 million. She’s gotten nothing right now, and one of the reasons might be because Johnny is pissed off that she’s talking about being a victim of domestic violence. One of the terms of their settlement was that Amber wouldn’t drag Johnny into any conversations about domestic violence. Amber starred in a domestic violence PSA (screen shot above) that was released in November. She recently wrote a piece for Porter magazine about domestic violence. Even though Amber keeps it vague in her PSA while describing her experience, Johnny thinks it’s pretty obvious who she’s talking about and he’s decided to stick his wallet back in his pants.

Johnny was supposed to make the first settlement payment on August 31st, and a second payment on November 1st.

When Johnny’s settlement payments failed to appear, Amber responded by having her lawyers file a “request for order,” which The Daily Mail got their hands on. Along with the money, there are also several other settlement items that Johnny has been stonewalling her on. The order claims that Johnny has failed to do the following:

– Hand over the $6.8 million he owes her
– Provide her with a date and time for a walk-through of their home in West Hollywood and various storage facilities to retrieve her property
– Transfer the title of a Range Rover
– Failing to meet with Amber to discuss the split of furniture and furnishings from their house and downtown apartment

Amber’s lawyers acknowledge her recent conversations about domestic violence. However, they’ve stated previously that they’re not a violation of Amber and Johnny’s confidentiality agreement.

In a declaration attached to the order, Amber brings the drama by accusing Johnny of leaking negative stories about her to the press, bragging that she “settled” for less than what she could have gotten, and painting her as a gold digger. I don’t know about that. I’m going to have to go back and see if I remember reading a story on TMZ from a “source” claiming that Amber was initially trying to get her grubby little hands on a custom-made concept car made for Johnny by Tim Burton featuring a solid-gold skull pulled by six robotic scorpions, but hahaha is settling for a lame Range Rover.
