Kid Cudi Has Checked Himself Into Rehab For Depression And Suicidal Urges

Last night, Kid Cudi – the rapper you might associate with accusing Kanye West and Drake of getting the smart kids to do their homework – posted a long note to Facebook that began with him telling everyone that he was “ashamed” and “living a lie.” I immediately assumed I was about to read Kid’s confession that he’s actually a 56-year-old man and would now be going by Middle-Aged Cudi. I should have known it was going to be far heavier than that. Kid Cudi was “ashamed” to admit that he was fighting a deep, dark battle with depression and that he was currently checked into rehab.

Kid Cudi admits that he’s been dealing with a major case of anxiety and depression for most of his 32 years of life and has decided to get help:

The month of October in Kid Cudi’s planner was supposed to be filled with promoting his latest album, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, but he makes it clear that that won’t be happening. PP&DS was supposed to be released on September 30th. It’s not known when it will be released now. It’s also not known how long he’s going to be in rehab, but I hope it’s at least long enough for him to learn he shouldn’t be ashamed of feeling like crap. We all sometimes feel like crap, Kid. I’m pretty sure everything that has happened so far in 2016 has made “crappy” a mandatory feeling.

Even though Kid came hard for Kanye and Drake, Kanye recently forgave him and called Kid his “brother.” It’s probably a good thing Kanye is currently busy with other things right now, because I don’t know if a rehab visit from Kanye would be the best thing for Kid right now. A visit from his friend Kanye might make him a little less depressed, but it definitely won’t do any good for his anxiety. “Mr. West, please – you need to stop screaming in the third person about how dope the acoustics are in the TV room. It’s making the other patients very nervous.”
