Amber Heard Wasn’t Deposed On Saturday (UPDATE)
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s difficult-to-schedule deposition finally happened on Saturday. Amber reportedly rolled in an hour and a half late, which I’m willing to give her a pass on. If the vintage boot was on the other foot, you know Johnny wouldn’t have shown up on time either. I can only imagine how long it takes for him to decide on which silver hobo pirate jewelry he’s going to wear 18lbs of each day. Well, we finally know what happened once Amber showed up. According to TMZ, nothing really happened. A meeting happened and nothing got done. And just like that, Johnny and Amber’s messy divorce drags on!
Sources connected to the situation say that Amber didn’t end up testifying on Saturday. According to said sources, Amber showed up around 11:30am and didn’t leave until 9pm, but that’s about all she did. She wasn’t exactly involved in the meeting. A videographer, a court reporter, and Johnny’s lawyers were reportedly in one room while Amber was in a nearby office. Amber didn’t give any statements or answer any questions. TMZ doesn’t know why, they just know she didn’t.
Despite the fact that Amber never gave a deposition, it sounds like it wasn’t a total waste of time for everyone involved. Well, at least in the grand scheme of things. A source claims that while Amber was chilling out in another room, her lawyers and Johnny’s lawyers discussed a settlement. However, a deal wasn’t reached.
So let me get this straight: Amber flew from London to Los Angeles to sit on her ass for nine and a half hours in a room at a lawyer’s office on a Saturday. Damn, at least tell me Elon Musk used some of the billions of dollars in his bank account to drone deliver an iPad with a valid Netflix account to Amber. There’s nothing worse than being trapped in a lawyer’s office (aka the birthplace of BOREDOM) for almost 10 hours with no TV.
UPDATE: Amber’s rep has released a statement to TMZ about her lack of deposition. Amber’s rep would like you to know that it wasn’t Amber’s fault she never testified on Saturday; it was Johnny’s lawyers’ fault!
“Although she was ready, willing and able to go forward with her deposition, it was not taken by Johnny’s attorneys. She waited for 10 hours and at no time did Amber ever refuse to start the deposition. There was nothing preventing Johnny’s counsel from commencing the deposition.”
Amber’s rep also side-eyed the accusation that she was late, saying that everyone knew Amber would be arriving at 11. They add that Amber only strolled in half an hour late because it took her that long to make her way through the crowd of paps that were waiting for her. This situation will be dragged out further; TMZ says Johnny was supposed to be deposed on Wednesday, but he can’t make it anymore.
