An Actress Called Tom Cruise A “Narcissistic Baby” During A Girlfriend Audition And Lived To Tell About It

And now it’s time to add yet another name to the already miles-long list of people who are willing to pull back the curtain and expose just how totally messy Scientology is. This time it’s an actress, voice-over artist and comedian named Cathy Schenkelberg and she spoke to The Daily Mail about it.

Cathy spilled some barley water-steeped tea to The Daily Mail to promote her one-woman Scientology tell-all show called “Squeeze My Cans.” The tea included how Cathy talked some shit about Tom Cruise during a girlfriend audition. Although to be fair, Cathy says she didn’t even know she was auditioning to be the next Mrs. Tom Cruise.

Cathy’s time with the Co$ came to an end in 2009. Before that, Cathy claims that she had been a member for 14 years and had spent about a million dollars on various courses. She also claims to have been friends with several celebrity Scientology members, like John Travolta and Kelly Preston, and his sister Margaret Travolta. She also shared a nanny with Tom’s sister Cass Mapother. Apparently that put her in the kind of inner circle that got her an audition for Nicole Kidman’s replacement.

Cathy was called to the Celebrity Centre and found herself surrounded by other young women. Since the call came from Golden Era Productions – Scientology’s production company – she assumed she was there to audition for a training video. Cathy was asked a bunch of random questions, like where she was from and what level she was on. Then they asked her about Tom Cruise. Remember, Cathy didn’t know she was auditioning to be his girlfriend and so she didn’t lie about how she felt about Scientology’s prince.

Cathy says she called Tom a “narcissistic baby” and admitted that she “hated him, even before she joined Scientology.” She also talked about how bummed she was that he split up with Nicole Kidman. After she was done dragging Tom, she asked when the audition would start, and if there was a script. They pointed to the door and told her the audition was done. Once outside, another actress informed her that she had just auditioned to be a professional girlfriend.

Not surprisingly, calling Tom Cruise a “narcissistic baby” got Cathy in some serious trouble. She was forced to audit like crazy in an attempt to find out why she hated Tom Cruise. Cathy says Scientology also made things weird between her and her daughter. When Cathy’s daughter got invited to a celebrity kid’s birthday party, like one thrown by Nancy Cartwright or Leah Remini, she was told that only her daughter was allowed to go. Cathy also alleges that they tried to recruit her then 9-year-old daughter into the Sea Org. They also taught her daughter about “emancipation.

Eventually Cathy says she went broke paying for so many Scientology courses and auditing. She owed thousands of dollars in taxes and had to declare bankruptcy. Things haven’t exactly gotten better, money-wise. Cathy claims she’s currently living in her car.

After the whole Tom Cruise fiasco happened, Cathy lost all her famous friends. But one in particular was especially rude. Cathy says that while she was still hanging around Scientology’s Celebrity Centre, she said hello to Kirstie Alley five different times. And each time, Kirstie would straight-up ignore her. Okay, Cathy needs to get more specific with her timeline. What year did this all happen? Because if it was one of the years in which Kristie claimed to have lost a bunch of weight, it may not have been her fault that she didn’t say hello back. She might not have actually seen Cathy waving at her. I mean, there’s no way those industrial-strength compression girdles didn’t cut off oxygen to something north of her waist.
